Taking Care Of Your Cane Corso Puppy

by Reginald Ruiz

If you're thinking about getting a cane corso puppy, then you are choosing one of the best breeds of dogs available. This puppy will bring you years of happiness and joy as your pet. However, before you get a puppy you need to know precisely how to take care of it so that you can make the puppy feel comfortable in their new home. Taking care of a cane corso puppy requires that you have knowledge of what is best for them. Here are some tips that you should bear in mind to help you take care of your new pup.

Feeding Your Puppy

Feeding your cane corso puppy is one of the first activities you will need to do for your pup. When you get your puppy from the breeder many of them will give you a diet sheet that tells you exactly how much food you should feed your puppy and what kind of food you should feed them.

If you don't get this list then you should ask for advice from the breeder. In general, though, your puppy should be able to eat regular dry and canned food that you find on the supermarket shelves. Be sure to change their water regularly and serve it from a clean bowl.

Grooming Your Dog

You will need to groom your puppy even though they have very short hair. You can either use a rubber brush or a pure bristle brush to brush your dog's coat and keep it shiny. Make sure that you clean your dog's ears by using a soft cotton ball to prevent infection. Your puppy may also need their nails clipped as well so pay attention as to whether they're getting too long.

Make sure that you start bathing your puppy as soon as possible. This will help them get used to taking a bath and it will become second nature as they grow into adulthood.

Exercise For Your Puppy

A cane corso puppy needs a lot of exercise. However, you should be reminded that your puppy should not overly exert itself to the point of exhaustion. You should gauge their playtime to make sure that they get just the right amount of exercise. Regular exercise will prevent your dog from becoming overweight.

It is not that difficult to take care of a new cane corso puppy. All you have to do is ensure that you follow the guidelines given here to have a healthy and happy pup.
